On 16 March 2007 the new Producer Responsibility Obligations (Packaging Waste) Regulations 2007 came into force. The 2007 Packaging Regulations consolidate the original 1997 Regulations with all of the subsequent amending Statutory Instruments and they also incorporate the changes made to the Regulations in 2007 as a result of a major public consultation exercise.
