Regional Policy

Regional PolicyRegional policy in England, on both waste strategy and waste planning (topics which although treated separately administratively and legally are intimately intertwined), is established by regional assemblies and government offices in consultation with representatives of local government, business, other bodies and individuals. Regional policy is based on the framework laid down by central government and stated in the national waste strategy. Local waste strategies and local waste planning documents have to pay due regard to, and be in broad conformity with, regional strategies and policies.
