 | One definition of waste prevention is 'minimising the quantity by weight/volume and hazardousness of waste generated' and is generally related to a defined community or company. It encompasses activities of waste avoidance and reduction and it can include reuse where this takes place within the defined community or company. This definition excludes materials for recycling, central composting and energy recovery and re-use of materials outside the defined area of interest. |
