A number of food companies including Greencore, Northern Foods and Greggs, are contracting to provide food and packaging waste to Inetec which intends to submit a planning application for development on a 10-acre site at Immingham. This is likely to be the first of a number of what are described as "mini-power stations" to be constructed around the country.
