Austin, Texas, USA: Movero Technology has announced the expansion of its responsible disposal recycling program, which educates, promotes and encourages organizations to recycle end-of-life mobile devices.
The launch of the expanded program, last Wednesday, consisted of two components;
• free wireless disposal and,
• certified data destruction.
Movero, a proven provider of managed IT services focused exclusively on mobility, developed the program in conjunction with a local recycling company that specializes in recycling mobile e-waste.
Movero says that the free wireless disposal program is a way to give back to the Earth at no cost to the company. Upon request, a Movero recycle box is shipped free of charge to the requesting company for convenient employee access. When the box is full, the company contacts Movero to arrange pickup.
The recycling facility has received certifications from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and the Environmental Protection Agency, according to Movero
Describing the process, the company said the data destruction program provides Movero customers a way to recycle devices that contain sensitive company information. Phones go through a multi-step process that can include phone memory wipe, drilling to physically destroy the memory chip and free recycling. Participants of the data destruction program receive a 'Certificate of Destruction' for company records and auditing (this program charges a service fee to cover the extra certification costs beyond regular recycling).
