Recycle Your E-Waste in Santa Ana! (22/02/2008)

SANTA ANA, Calif., US:  /PRNewswire/ -- Raise money for The Grain Project, a local non-profit organization, by recycling your electronic waste (e-waste) at a Recreational Equipment, Inc. (REI) sponsored event on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at 1411 S. Village Way, Santa Ana, 92705.

This special event provides a tremendous opportunity for the entire city of Santa Ana and surrounding communities to properly dispose of obsolete monitors, televisions, computers, printers, copiers, fax machines and cell phones. This free collection event will be held between the hours of 10am and 3pm. Consumers can drop off their obsolete consumer electronics at the ease e-waste truck that will be parked in the REI parking lot. As an added incentive, each individual that donates an e-waste item will receive one 15% discount coupon from REI.

REI is partnering with ease e-waste, a California EPA certified company specializing in the collection and recycling of electronic waste. This joint effort increases awareness about the importance of recycling and provides an easy and cost-free way for consumers to properly dispose of their electronics.

This event not only benefits the environment, but helps to raise much needed funds for a grass-roots Santa Ana based non-profit organization linking community development with environmental stewardship. The Grain Project is organized to promote unified, healthy, sustainable communities through farmers' markets, community gardens, and public art. Funds generated from this event will go toward their Santa Ana Certified Farmers' Market community development program.

Most consumers recognize that the effects of hazardous materials in electronics can best be combated by recycling. The act of recycling prevents the potential contamination of water resources and helps preserve the earth's environment. The public's desire to participate in the responsible disposal of their consumer electronics has been answered with e-waste collection events sponsored by REI and ease e-waste.
