London: Veolia Environmental Services announced recently that it has won two contract extensions in Rushmoor and Surrey Heath.
The Rushmoor Borough Council contract extension - from April 2009 - is for an additional seven years of services including refuse and recycling collections, street cleaning, highway verges and parks and grounds maintenance.
This year Rushmoor was ranked 5th out of the 67 councils in the South East for having the cleanest streets and in addition its refuse and recycling services have consistently receive high satisfaction scores in resident surveys.
The Surrey Heath landscapes extension includes services to parks, grounds and garden maintenance and is effective from February 2009. This contract already has a 12 month extension and now has a further extension for two years which includes grass cuttings, annual shrub bed maintenance, hedge cutting, rose bed maintenance and highways maintenance.
Councillor Roland Dibbs, Rushmoor Borough Council’s Cabinet member for the Environment, said:
“We take tremendous pride in Rushmoor and demand high standards for our frontline services, such as refuse and recycling collections, street cleaning and maintenance of our parks and open spaces, as we know how important these are to residents. Veolia Environmental Services have consistently met those standards and we look forward to developing our relationship with them over the next seven years and new collection methods will help us to meet our recycling targets.”
