 | In the Member States the legislature is shaped by two important principles these being the rule of law and the rule of democracy. All the actions and activities of the EU must satisfy the fundamental requirements of law and democracy and must have both legal and democratic legitimacy. Europe provides the framework for the UK's and other member states' legislation on wastes management. In particular the Waste Framework Directive has a strong, overarching influence to which subordinate Directives on waste are related. |
