The UK Statute Law Database (SLD) is the official revised edition of the primary legislation of the United Kingdom made and is available online.
Help is provided to users regardless of degree of familiarity with legislation or SLD. Whether new to UK legislation and trying to find out what sorts of 'primary legislation' there are, or already familiar with statute law and SLD the database should be useful.
The staff are officers of the Statutory Publications Offices in London and Belfast. The London office forms part of the Legal Group within the Department for Constitutional Affairs. The Belfast office is the responsibility of the Office of the Legislative Counsel in Northern Ireland within the Office of the First Minister and Deputy First Minister. The editorial work of the two offices is carried out under qualified legal supervision.
